Baker Sisters!

Sisters baking day. Another tradition I love. Getting together to bake, share stories, order Cafe Rio and just be together. It's funny, but I'm the only one left with kids that aren't in school. The girls love being doted over which makes my job easier. Not to mention we get to come home with lots of yummy treats!

Trip'n

Among my favorite things to do is take a road trip. I think it stems back from the many times we would drive from our home in Santa Fe, New Mexico to grandma's house in Spanish Fork, Utah. We would sing the "Hello" song back and forth and sway to the music. As we did, Dad would have to steer carefully because we would sway the van back and forth.

This December we took a road trip to St. George with Daddy for his work. We played all day in the condo pool while he went to work. Our favorite thing to do in St. George is exploring the red rocks up by the Dixie sign.

We also decided that a yearly tradition has to be to come and see the live manger play at Tuacon each year. The girls had a long personal visit (no other kiddos in line) with Santa, we had front row seats at the play, listened to the carolers, ate donuts, sat by the bon fire and watched the performers. What a magical night! Oh and BTW, Santa must have just returned from a lengthy visit to England. His accent was divine!

Another highlight was a visit to the St. George temple. Twinkle lights and palm trees go together beautifully! Our good friends Andy and Holly, from Vegas who now live in St. George came along with us.

Each morning in the condo we had a special surprise for the girls. Whenever we give surprises at our house you have to sit on the couch with your eyes covered and we put it in your lap. Way more fun than gift wrapping, we think! This is one of those moments I will hold in my memory forever!

Snow Fun!

It is fun to see magic come to life as the kids play in the snow. And who couldn't use a good excuse to drink hot cocoa and sit by the fire?

Nutcracker is a special treat that I look forward to all year. All the girls in my family have a tradition of attending the Nutcracker the Saturday before Thanksgiving to begin the holiday season. Neeley and Kayla couldn't prepare Lilah enough for the big day. She was finally old enough to attend. With our purses full of snacks in hand we set off in our fancy dresses for the big day. When we arrived the girls all picked out their traditional gift from the boutique and we made our way to our seats. I think we had talked it up so much, Lilah may have been a bit disappointed at first but quickly warmed up to the program. Afterwards we all headed over to Ogden's old train station to the Union Grill for lunch. And what is lunch without onion rings! This day has never disappointed, and today was no exception!
