Spring Fever!

At our house we are ready for spring.  So ready that we are wearing our flip flops and capris in hopes that it might will it here a bit sooner!  The other day it was so nice we had to get out, so we grabbed a picnic lunch and headed for the park.  The girls were in heaven playing on the toys and riding around on their bikes.  It feels so good to feel the warm sun and and get some exercise outside.

Summer Salsa

I got this recipe in a recipe group I was in several years ago.  I love it because it tastes fresh but it is easy to make!  I know it is almost summer when I pull this out- or at least it feels like it!

Summer Salsa

1 clove fresh garlic

2 green onions

4-5 stems cilantro

1/2 to 1 can El Pato (yellow can in Mexican food isle)  Gives it heat so adjust as wanted.

1 can Mexican stewed tomatoes 

salt to taste

Mix together in food processor and pulse until desired consistency.

What will a penny buy?

We are gearing up for summer at our house and had to do a shopping trip for sandals for the girls.  We stopped first at Payless in the Layton mall.  I found these cute white sandals and they were $7 so I thought that was an ok buy for sandals they could wear around and to church.  Then we found that they didn't have any in the girls sizes.  So the girl called and found out that the store in Clinton had them both and they were going to hold them for us.  She gave me a $3 off coupon for each pair because we had to go to another store to get them.  Well, I debated whether to go there or not but was glad I did when I got to the Clinton store.  The clerk rung them up and said that will be 2 cents.  I questioned her and she said they were on sale.  Yahoo!! Sandals at one cent each, now that is my kind of bargain!  Add that to the $2 flip flops at Walmart and my girls are set with a total of 4 pairs of shoes for $4.02!!

Your birthday came and went so fast we didn't get a chance to honor you on the blog!  We sure have missed you this week while you were in Las Vegas with your dad and brothers to see the basketball games.

Jenny "He is the best Dad any person could ask for.  He loves to tease his girls, tickle them and care for them.  He is always thinking of us and it shows by the little things he does.  He is the best dish doer, best pancake maker, best personal shopper, best friend, best dance around the kitchen buddy, best caregiver and best dad and husband ever!  I missed you and am glad to see you come home today!  I rely on you for so many things!  Happy be-lated birthday!

righty gone lefty!

Yesterday I had a run in with the shower door at the gym.  I am naturally a clumsy person but have never had to go to the emergency room because of it until now!  I have just always had many bruises and stubbed toes.  

OK so if you are going to do something like this I suggest you do it when you are fully clothed, because I wasn't yesterday and it posed a bit of a problem.  I was just getting out of the steam room and headed into the shower.  On my way in I reached back to pull the door shut and obviously wasn't paying attention because I slammed my fingers in it.  I pinched my fingers right between the heavy glass door and the tile wall.  At first I though I was just going to have some bruised fingers until I looked down and saw bone.  It was then that I panicked!  Here I was no cloths on, no one with me and my kids were at the day care there at the gym.  I got dressed the best I could and ran out to my car.  By this time my pregnancy emotions were kicking in and I was pretty upset.  I tried to get Jeremy on the phone but he wasn't answering so I called Mom Marlene and she was on her way to rescue me.  By the time she got there Jer was too so Jer took me to the ER and Mom took the girls home.

They did some x-rays right away and determined it was not broken or cracked.  Then they checked it out and said I was lucky that I had just missed the nerves and had not gone through the tendons.  What I thought was bone was really just my tendon.  So I just have a lot of stitches and a stupid story to go with them!

I am just really grateful for things like numbing medicine, family, doctors, stitches and things not being as bad as they could have!  So for the time being I am practicing my left handed skills.

Keeping up!

Lilah loves her big sisters and tries her hardest to keep up with them.  Today they were outside playing and she stood at the window just a jabbering at them the whole time.  Her favorite new word is Uh-Oh and she says it about a million times a day.  I just wish she would use it to give me a heads up when she was headed for the toilet.  She is still very obsessed with it and as Aunt Nikki puts it after watching her over night, "She has potty radar!"  She knows the exact moment when a bathroom door is open.  It is a good thing she is so cute!
